A Way With Words


On my recent sojurn Up North, I discovered something about the English. They love to give things really weird names.

One you can view here in all it's glory. Oh, yes. This is a REAL street name in the fair city of Lincoln.

Other wonderous examples of the British naming genius are towns such as Scunthorpe, Scunby, Spittal in the Road (I kid you not!) and Glusburn. I seriously don't know where they come up with these things. And neither do they, apparently. My friend whom I was visiting had no idea why these towns had such... creative names.
