When In Rome: Day 3

Ok, yes, I know this is ridiculously late, but better late than never, right?

Right.

So, day three was about wandering. Exploring. Seeing all the bits and pieces that make Rome magical.

Trevi Fountain is naturally one of those places. And yet, it's such a strange sight, this enormous, beautiful fountain crammed into a tiny square.


There are eight Egyptian obelisks in Rome. Anyone who's read Angels and Demons knows that! This one is located in the Piazza della Rotonda. It's called Macuteo and it was built by Ramses II for the Temple of Isis at Heliopolis.


One of the Angels from the Path of Illumination at the Catel Sant'Angelo. Another site made famous by Angels and Demons, it's also called the Mausoleum of Hadrian. Probably because it was built by Hadrian. As a Mausoleum. Probably.

We saw a lot of sites that day. By the end of the day, my feet hurt so bad, I was actually relieved to hobble onto the airplane and head for home!

However, do not be deceived, my friends, at my relief at returning home. I have every intention of returning to Italy. Rome wasn't built in a day, and you certainly can't see it all in one weekend!
